Strong line-up for 2025 Grey Festival
A strong contingent of sides have made their way to Bloemfontein for the annual Grey Cricket Festival, which runs from 9-12 January.

This year’s event features the Namibian u19 squad, which will have their opposition vying for bragging rights as they strive to score a win over an international side.
The other noteworthy attribute of the festival is that it will feature three different formats of the game. Day one and two will see the 10 sides battle it out in two-day matches.
Day three will have the teams fighting it out in the 50-over format, while the fourth and last day will feature T20 clashes, except for the hosts, Grey College, who will face the Namibians in a 50-over game. It will be a stern examination for the home side, who would have already faced formidable challenges from Selborne College and Glenwood.
The Johannesburg-based Jeppe High School for Boys starts their week off with a tough contest against the other Bloemfontein representative, St Andrew’s School. Grey High School will also have their hands full when they tackle the Namibians, who have the advantage of having played quite a bit of cricket at the annual Cubs Week in Stellenbosch earlier this month.
The side from Gqeberha then goes on to face an unpredictable Potchefstroom Volkskool, who will be flying the flag for the Northwest. Volkies are up against unpredictable Northwood, from KwaZulu-Natal. Hoërskool Menlopark, Pretoria’s only representative, takes on Glenwood for the first two days with Namibia awaiting them in a 50-over clash on the third day.
