The South African Rugby Union (SARU) will be fielding a South African Under-18 Sevens team. The team will compete in the African Youth Games on 22 – 31 May 2014 in Gabarone, Botswana.

The training squad features several players from the SA Under-16 High Performance squad from 2013 as well as PJ Toerien and Marco Janse van Vuuren who both played for the SA Schools team last year. Whilst the likes of Jaco Coetzee, Morne Joubert and Luigy van Jaarsveld were all prominent players at the U18 Craven Week.

Paul Roos have the most players in the squad with three, followed by Affies, Garsfontein, Grey College, Glenwood and sevens masters Tygerberg with two each. Some of the players in the squad matriculated last year, but we have still included their schools name.

*Please note that this is not the final team and players from outside this squad can still be in contention. The final team will be announced in March.
