Saheti to host the annual sevens for the 23rd time
SAHETI School will be hosting its 23rd annual rugby sevens and netball festival on Saturday 27 February from 08h00 to 14h30. The event will feature 32 rugby teams (16 each in the u/16 and u/19 age groups) and 31 netball teams (13 in u/16 and 18 in u/19 age groups) representing 22 schools.
The following schools will be participating: Allen Glen, American International School of Johannesburg, Dominican Convent, Jabulani Rugby Club, Malvern Community, Marist Brothers Linmeyer, Mondeor High, Queens High, Reddam House, Wendywood High, Hoërskool Kempton Park, Crawford College Lonehill, Highlands North Boys High School, Jeppe High School for Girls, Leeuwenhof Akademie, Curro Serengeti, Sandringham High, Sir John Adamson, Waterstone College, St. Dunstan’s, Glenvista High School and SAHETI.
The open teams will be competing for four trophies: championship, shield, bowl and plate, while the U/16s will play for the championship, shield and plate trophies. Last year, Leeuwenhof Akademie took top honors, winning the opens netball finals whilst the under 16 championship was won by Kempton Park Hoërskool. The opens rugby championship was won by St Dunstan’s whilst the under 16 championship was won by Queens High School.
The programme will also feature SAHETI alumni rugby and netball matches. Food stalls, arts and crafts and entertainment for the whole family will be on offer.
