Grey College kept their unbeaten record by beating Paarl Boys’ High by 34-24 in Paarl. Grey College started off with a bang leading 17-0 after only 20 minutes of play. The visitors played against a strong breeze in the first half. The home side however fought back well to trail by only three points 14-17 at the break.
Grey College winger, AJ Coertzen, dropped his second goal of the week after slotting a cheeky drop goal earlier in the week at the Free State Coca Cola Cravenweek trials while playing flyhalf. For Paarl Boys’ High their prop Marcel van der Merwe and flanker Burger Kramer played their hearts out.
For the winning team their captain and eightman, Adriaan Theisinger, was the best player on the field. He was supported well by Franna du Toit (flyhalf), Riaan Britz (fullback), Jean Cook (lock) and Anton Earle (flank).
