SpringbokSevensThe South African u18 Sevens group are on their way to Trinidad and Tobago, where they will be representing the country at the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games.

The team is made up of a variety of the best first-team players in South African schoolboy rugby and looks well-equipped to defend our pride at this year’s Games.

We face the hosts in the final match of the first day on Sunday before we have two tough opponents on Monday in Canada and Scotland.

On Tuesday we play against Fiji whose senior team are currently ranked the highest among the participating nations at third in the HSBC Sevens rankings.

The Blitzbokke ended last season at seventh, the lowest we’ve ever been.

We’ll look to the young flyers of the future over the weekend to get a taste of what South African sevens rugby might have in store over the next couple of years.
