CSA to host SA U19 Women Camps to launch journey towards 2027 World Cup

TSHWANE: Cricket South Africa (CSA) is gearing up to host two national training camps for the South Africa Under-19 Women’s team
Two centurions, Ruan Terblanché (Cape Cobras) and Luke Beaufort (Warriors), was the heroes for their respective teams on the opening day of Cricket South Africa’s Cubs Week in Stellenbosch.
Terblanché (116*) combined forces with Bonga Makhakha (66) in the middle to add 161 runs over the second wicket to help the Cobras secure their first victory at the Cubs Week in two years.
The Lions would’ve felt happy with the target of 244 that they’ve set, but it was the mature batting performances of Terblanché and Makhakha that were the difference in the end.
Cameron Shekleton (98) followed his impressive century during the main match of the Coca-Cola Khaya Majola Week by almost scoring another. He was caught by Achille Cloete off the bowling of Thando Ntini (1/45) just short of the milestone.
Terblanché faced 160 deliveries in his innings of which he dispatched 13 past the boundary rope. Two of these were maximums. Makhakha, who was the hero in the historic victory for the Colts over the SA Schools side, hit only five boundaries in his innings. He faced 93 deliveries in his innings before his stumps were rearranged by Jarred Goncalves-Jardine (4/45).
Luke Beaufort (103) helped the Warriors to shock the defending champions, the Knights, by 49 runs. His century included five fours and five sixes. He shared a 128-run third wicket partnership with Matt Dewar (51) which helped the Warriors to a very competitive 224/5 on the Coetzenburg Oval in their allotted 50 overs.
SA Schools’ captain, Gerald Coetzee, put forward a good performance with the ball in hand. He got rid of three batsmen for 30 runs, but in the end, it was not enough to help the Knights secure a victory.
The Knights were bundled out for 175 runs with Nonelela Yikha (4/33) causing most of the damage.
The Dolphins didn’t experience too much trouble to drown the Titans by seven wickets in their open clash of the tournament. The Titans managed a mere 144 mostly thanks to contributions by Ximus du Plooy (46) and Eathan Wentzel (27).
SA Schools’ fast bowler Lifa Ntanzi (3/10) caused the most problems to the Titans batting line-up with his pace. He received some excellent support by Matthew Montgomery (2/18) and Mondli Khumalo (2/22).
Thamsanqa Khumalo (44) and Montgomery (38*) let their bats do the talking as they helped to secure the victory.

Lions 243/8 (Cameron Shekleton 98, Michael Copeland 59; Anele Matya 3/32, Achille Cloete 2/41); Cape Cobras 246/4 (Ruan Terblanché 116*, Bonga Makhakha 66, Extras 27; Jarred Goncalves-Jardine 4/45). Cape Cobras won by six wickets.
Titans 144 (Ximus du Plooy 46, Eathan Wentzel 27; Lifa Ntanzi 3/10, Matthew Montgomery 2/18, Mondli Khumalo 2/22); Dolphins 145/3 (Thamsanqa Khumalo 44, Matthew Montgomery 38*, Andile Mogakane 21*; Dian Forrester 1/22). Dolphins won by seven wickets.
