The clash will be the hosts’ first league action of the season, after they had a bye on the opening weekend.
Their opponents came up short against Brandfort last Saturday, going down 12-31. However, they showed off some attacking potential earlier in the season when they beat Winburg 26-0 at the Pieter Swanepoel Sports Day.
Fullback Ferlin Rulf and the lanky second rower Bokang Maichu impressed in that match and were both rewarded with tries. Their flyhalf, Jano Jackson, was also at the forefront of the attacks and he will relish another opportunity to drive his team towards victory on Saturday evening.
St Andrew’s lost their pre-season opener at the Pieter Swanepoel Sports Day after a gruelling battle with Hoërskool Parys, who scored in the dying seconds to win 24-19.
Saints’ big no. 8, Eduan van den Heever, crossed the try line twice in that match and he will be eager to make a similar impact this weekend.
Speaking of impactful loose forwards keep an eye on Brandfort’s no. 8 Greyven Dempsey, who has scored four tries in their last two matches.
They tackle Zastron, who have stepped forward as one of the early favourites after they dismantled Bloemfontein South 51-0 last weekend.
