School Rugby Results – 17 February 2018
The 2018 school rugby season kicked off today with the annual Sarel Cilliers Rugby Day in Glencoe, Northern Natal.
The hosts was suppose to play against HTS Carel de Wet from Vanderbijlpark in the main match of the day, but due to their withdrawal from the day the match was rescheduled to be against Springs Boys’ High. Antoher cancellation on Friday saw Sarel Cilliers and Greytown High meet each other for the second time in 2018. The two schools already met each other in a pre-season friendly with Sarel Cilliers coming out on top by 40-8.
Sarel Cilliers was once again victorious today by beating Greytown by 43-3. Welkom Gimnasium would want to pick up their game before their next meeting against Kearsney College. Gimmies recorded a narrow 24-20 victory over Pionier of Vryheid thanks to a try from a rolling maul with no time left on the clock.
