School of Rugby Rankings – 5 August 2019
Paarl Gimnasium secured their second placed position on School of Rugby’s latest rankings with a narrow 18-17 victory over Paarl Boys’ High in their annual interschools at the Faure Street Stadium in Paarl. This was the first time in five years that Gimmies came out on top during the biggest interschools in the world.
Boishaai kept their third place position, while Grey College is still sitting pretty on top of the rankings. Fifth placed Monument suffered a 15-22 defeat against Menlopark. The team from Pretoria is currently ranked at 23rd, but will probably move into our Top 20 as the season moves to a close.
Please note that we don’t take matches against international opposition into consideration in our rankings. These games will however still be recorded and shown in our results.
These rankings are not an official ranking as there is no official ranking on schoolboy level and this is only to get the discussion on school rugby on South Africa flowing. We however take our responsibility on reporting school rugby very seriously.
