School of Rugby Rankings – 22 August 2016

Paarl Boys’ High managed to finish their second succesive season unbeaten finishing their year with a 52-15 victory over HTS Drostdy at Brugstreet in the Paarl. 

Grey College cemented their place in second position with three victories since last week’s rankings. A last-gasp controversial victory over Paul Roos Gimnasium (34-32). They also defeated Louis Botha (48-20) and Voortrekker (90-17) in play-off matches in the Kovsie Championship’s Shimla-league. 

Garsfontein was the big movers as they booked their place in the Beeldtrofee’s final for Macro Schools for the third succesive year with a convincing victory over Monument in the semi-finals on Tuesday. Monnas hold on to their fifth position, but could move down the rankings if EG Jansen manage to take the title from Garsies.

It is important to take into consideration that School of Rugby’s ranking system only takes into account the performances each team produced thus far in the season and not the potential we might believe each team has.

Please note that we don’t take matches against international opposition into consideration in our rankings. These games will however still be recorded and shown in our results. This rankings is not an official ranking as there is no official ranking on schoolboy level and this is only to get the discussion on school rugby on South Africa flowing. We however take our responsibilty on reporting school rugby very seriously.
