Rossouw not totally lost to Paarl Gim
Paarl Gimnasium Director of Rugby and Head Coach, Pieter Rossouw has entered into a temporary consultancy agreement with a Japanese first division rugby team. The contract between the club and Rossouw has been structured to enable him to continue in his position as Director of Rugby at Paarl Gimnasium.
Rossouw will be with the Gim first team for its next seven encounters (Affies, Garsfontein, EG Jansen, Paul Roos, Waterkloof, Grey Bloem and Rondebosch). He will join the Japanese club middle May and will not be present at the games against Oakdale Landbou, SACS, Bishops and Boland Landbou.
Helmut Lehmann will take over the role of Head Coach for these 4 games. Pieter’s arrangement with the club ends in June which means that he will be back to oversee the preparation and important matches against Wynberg and PBHS during the second half of the season.
Paarl Gim’s head master, Eddie Bateman, was relieved that Pieter was able to arrange his contract with Toshiba in a way that limits the period of his absence. “We are privileged to have someone of Pieter’s stature as our Director of Rugby. He has already made a significant contribution to our rugby and we are seeing the results of his good work in the way all our teams are playing.
It is our intension to keep Pieter with us as long as possible and our willingness to allow Pieter to pursue this
opportunity has enabled us to secure his services for the 2018 season.
