Free State managed to get back to winning ways on the second day of the u13 Craven Week in Krugersdorp.

The team from Bloemfontein managed to defeat the Leopards by 14-8 in a closely contested match on Monument’s main field, the Ras van Rooyen.

A try by inside centre, Jacobus Oosthuizen, was the difference between the two sides as he pinned his ears back and scored after possession was turned over.

They took the game away in the last five minutes with scrumhalf, Edrich Hanekom, slotting a penalty after replacement Dippies Dippenaar just fell short of scoring a try. Dippenaar did get his five-pointer a couple of minutes later.

Border was in a devastating as they thumped the Griffons by 50-5 in the opening clash of the second day of the prestigious tournament. Flanker Sigcobe Magwentshu and outside centre Aluta Landzela both managed to score a brace of tries as their team ran in eight tries.

Five of the tries were converted by flyhalf, Levi Botha, who showcased that he has a trusty boot.
