Reminiscent of days gone by, it was Louis Koen who stood out for the Paarl Gimnasium side as they stormed to a 22-12 triumph.

He was excellent throughout the tournament and set the pace in the final to help his team along to their second successive victory in their home tournament.

Thomas Saunders was also in phenomenal form throughout the weekend, earning him the player-of-the-tournament award for his efforts.

Boland Landbou did well to score twice against the champions who conceded only a single try on the first day, but they simply could not contain the hosts.

En route to the championship, Paarl Gimnasium saw away with Paul Roos Gimnasium in the quarter-finals in an epic battle, where the hosts walked away victorious by a single point, 20-19.

Both of these proud schools had unbeaten seasons with their u15 15-man teams, with their only draw coming when they played against each other.

In fact, the first time the Paul Roos u15 boys tasted defeat in any format of the game was against Paarl Gim last weekend at the Bredasdorp Sevens tournament when they lost by 21-7 in the semi-final.

Stellenberg will be proud of their bronze medal position after beating a tireless side from Hermanus by 17-14. Both of these teams exceeded expectations to top the rest of the competition and make it all the way to the semi-finals before bowing out to the two Paarl giants.

In the Plate final, HTS Drostdy from Worcester played exceptionally well to get one over their big rivals from George, Outeniqua.

The Donkies beat the Kwaggas by 21-12.

Swartland are the Bowl champions after getting past a very promising Worcester Gimnasium team by 17-7 in the final.
