New faces at this year’s St John’s Easter Festival
There is a couple of new faces at this year’s St John’s College Easter Festival in Johannesburg.
For the 24th edition of the Easter Festival, St John’s College decided to invite an extra two teams. Since 1996 there were always 12 school teams in attendance, but this year there will be 14 teams in action from 18 to 22 April on the Burger Field.
Stellenberg of Durbanville and Graeme College of Grahamstown will make their first-ever appearance at the festival. Their first match against Helpmekaar promises to be one of the highlights of the Easter Festival. They will also face Nelspruit and the Golden Lions XV in the City of Gold.
Paarl Boys’ High is also back in the line-up after an absence of one year. Boishaai celebrated their 150th-anniversary last year with the World Schools Festival in Paarl. Before that, they were ever-present at the St John’s College Easter Festival.
Noordheuwel of Krugersdorp is also making a comeback after their last appearance in 2014. They will face St John’s College, a Combined Schools XV and St Charles College in their three matches.
St Charles College is also making a comeback after attending the Easter Festival back in 2016 for the last time.
