NewsG BrackenfellWith both Milnerton and Melkbosstrand coming off losses over the last weekend, they will be itching for a chance to end their seasons on a positive note at their final big derby of the season on Friday.

Milnerton ran into an in-form Stellenberg team last Friday, losing 24-7, while Melkbosstrand had a difficult day against Brackenfell (48-15).

Friday’s match is the perfect opportunity for both teams to add another highlight to their respective campaigns as the winter sports season nears the end.

The last meeting between these two teams came down to the wire, with Melkbosstrand taking the victory, 16-15.

The visitors will be relying on the experience and composure of their fullback, Cyle Theys.

His winger, Ashton Januarie, came off the bench to score in their previous outing and will be keen for a chance to make an impact this weekend again.

The host’s inside centre, Frank Hitimana, is an exciting player to watch and could have a pivotal role to play for his team on Friday,

His big eighth man, Liberty Nyashanu, is also a livewire and one to keep an eye on.

On Saturday, Tygerberg and Brackenfell take each other on in a big northern suburbs FNB Classic Clash.

The Tigers will be desperate to get back to winning ways after Hoërskool Durbanville gave them a 91-0 hiding last week.

Brackenfell also went down against the Durbies the weekend before that but only lost by 45-10.

Last weekend, Brackenfell beat Melkbosstrand quite comfortably by 48-13 to get back to winning ways and they will want to keep that momentum going for this weekend’s clash.

The big eighth man, Raiden Rodney, came on as a substitution in that game and scored twice.

Rodney starts this weekend and will want to add to his tally.
