Jeppe and Affies claim crucial wins against KES and Waterkloof

There were wins for Jeppe High School for Boys and Affies in Gauteng this past weekend as they took on King Edward, and Waterkloof respectively. 

Jeppe, who went into their game against KES as favourites scored a whopping six goals and managed to hold off their opposition who failed to score in the game. 

The home side started the match on a positive note, passing the ball around, and forcing the opposition into defensive mode.

They scored three goals in the first quarter through a brace by Miguel de Jesus, and one goal from Boipelo Koloti.

Jeppe remained consistent in attack, and forced KES into making more mistakes in the second quarter. The quarter only saw one goal, a well executed short corner, that saw Jaydon Brooker beat two defenders to score for his side’s fourth. 

Two more goals in the third and fourth quarter by Ben Benjamin, and a double for Koloti closed off the game, securing an emphatic (6-0) for Jeppe on their home ground.

In other matches, Affies only needed one goal to beat Waterkloof. While Pretoria Boys High played out to a one-all draw with Maritzburg College away from home.

Parktown boys lost their final match of the season (4-0) against Garsfontein.
