Hub players steal the spotlight in Switch Schools SA20

South Africa’s Hub or development sides are often underestimated when compared to the more established elite teams of South African schoolboy cricket. However, those sides exist for many good reasons, with one being that they unearth diamonds in the rough.
In Wednesday’s Switch Schools SA20 Volume Two fixtures, there were a handful of players whose performances suggested that they might be among those diamonds in the rough.
In Victoria Hub‘s astounding 184-run victory over Groote Schuur High, Abdur Razzaaq Saiet slammed an unbeaten 68 runs off 34 balls, flying along at two runs a ball.
His teammate, Zaid Pocha was especially excellent, delivering the eye-popping bowling figures of 7/18 from four overs.
Two other bowling performances caught the eye. St Augustine Hub‘s Matthew Samuels captured 5/9 in four overs in his side’s low-scoring win over Gugulethu Hub, while Anele Pama knocked back 5/14 in three overs for Gugulethu.
