St. Stithian’s College FNB Easter Festival
The first St. Stithian’s College FNB Easter Festival took place from 16 to 21 April in 1984. The teams whom participated in the first Festival was King Edward VII, St. John’s College, St. Andrew’s College, Potchefstroom Boys’ High, Diocesan College, Capricorn, Kearsney College, Alexandra Boys’ High, Pretoria Boys’ High and St. Stithians College.
Future Springbok flyhalf of St. Stithians, Lance Sherrell, kicked off the tournament.
International Players who graced this Festival are Gavin Johnson (Capricorn – 1984), Lance Sherrell (St. Stithian’s College – 1984), Joel Stransky (Maritzburg College – 1985), Pieter Muller (Grey College – 1987), Ruben Kruger (Grey College – 1987), Ettienne Fynn (Kearsney College – 1989), Robbie Kempson (Queens College – 1990), Pierre Spies (Affies – 2003) and Ryan Kankowski (St. Andrew’s College – 2003).
