Western Province’s inside centre, Daniël du Plessis produced a scintilating performance as his side defeated the Pumas 40-24 in their match on the first day. Du Plessis scored four of his side’s tries. He is the son of former Springbok centre, Michael du Plessis.
Zimbabwe’s fullback Brendon Mandivenga impressed in the first game of the 50th Coca-Cola Craven Week in Polokwane. Mandivenga helped his side to a 35-17 victory over Griqualand West. The fullback scored 20 of his side’s points via a try, three conversions and three penalties.
