Charlies and Worcester Gim battle it out in Ceres, Bredasdorp looking for first win against Montagu since 2009
The Western Cape is buzzing with top-quality schoolboy rugby action this weekend. In Ceres, two of the Boland’s most exciting teams clash when Charlie Hofmeyr hosts Worcester Gimnasium and there is a score to settle in Bredasdorp when they host Montagu, who they have not been able to get the better of since 2009.

Charlies are without their SA U18 Sevens player, Luan Giliomee (flyhalf) who is in Trinidad and Tobago where they will be representing the country at the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games from Sunday.
Their fullback, Lawrence Jantjies, stood out for them last weekend when they beat Hermanus 36-13 and will be one to look out for in this match again, as the kicking battle is sure to play a big part in the quest for dominance.
Worcester Gimnasium can call on either of their centres, Carick Kustoor and Lohenzel Jansen, to take up the kicking duties when needed.
Their fullback, Jovawn Visagie, has also been a livewire all season, and he will be looking to make an impression on Saturday.
Also keep an eye on the hosts’ speedster winger, Matthew Syster, who has crossed the line in three of their last four matches and looks a danger when given a glimpse of space.
Montagu looks to defend their proud unbeaten record since 2009 when they visit Bredasdorp.
The hosts have looked strong this season and it may be their year to break the curse, but this would not be the first time that Montagu has come into this fixture looking like the underdogs.
The scheduled match between Hugenote and Robertson had to be called off due to the taxi protests in the area.
