Brooker and Cowen light-up the annual SASHOC u18 tournament
The two captains of Southern Gauteng and Western Province, Jaydon Brooker and Michael Cowen, is in a close battle for being crowned the top scorer at the SASHOC u18 national tournament in Bloemfontein.
Brooker has scored eight goals in total after the first three days of the tournament. He added two goals on day three in his side’s convinving 6-0 victory over Northern Gauteng.
Miguel de Jesus also scored a brace as Southern Gauteng kept their unbeaten record intact.
Cowen scored his fifth of the tournament in his side’s 3-0 victory over Amathole. He found the back of the net in the fifth minute with teammates Dean Carrick and Michael Royden-Turner also scoring for the victorious side.
Western Province also secured a 4-0 victory over the hosts, Southern Free State, on day three. Ethan Lee scoring a brace of goals in this victory with Joshua Mettler and Caleb Ferreira adding the other two goals.
Southern Gauteng and Western Province form the top two of Pool A at the end of Day Three with KZN Coastals A and Boland A making up the top two teams of Pool B.
