The Staatspresident Swart High School from Brandfort will face their toughest challenge yet when they meet Wilgerivier High School from Frankfort at 10:50 at Shimlapark in Bloemfontein in the final of the Kovsie-competition’s Irawa-league.
Brandfort smashed Reitz by 50-15 to book their place in the final of the competition. Both teams are very successful over the last few years. Former Griffons’ player Spanjool Wessels coaches the side from Frankfort. While Pieter Swanepoel is Brandfort’s coach. Swanepoel coached the Free State’s Cravenweek-side last year.
Brandfort still have to play without their captain and flyhalf Jan Frik Ludeke. Ludeke injured his knee in a friendly match earlier in the season. The brilliant lock Andrew Bester will lead the side.
