Boishaai keep unbeaten record since 2015 at Wildeklawer intact

KIMBERLEY. – Paarl Boys’ High kept their unbeaten record at ABSA Wildeklawer since 2015 intact with a 35-13 victory over Glenwood in the opening match of the 2023-edition of the festival.

Boishaai did not attend the 2015 tournament due to their participation at the Sanix-tournament in Japan.
Interesting is that their last defeat at Wildeklawer came in 2013 at the hands of Glenwood. Back in 2013 Sean Erasmus was still coaching Glenwood before moving to the Paarl to coach Boishaai.
So in other words Boishaai’s last defeat at Wildeklawer was when their current head coach planned their demise.
The team from Paarl led by 14-0 at the break thanks to tries by Rubin Dames (flanker) and Scott Nel (winger). Dames opened the scoring of the festival when bashed over in the 24th minute.
Boishaai and Glenwood both scored twice in the last five minutes of the match to make sure everybody in Kimberley where still awake.
Dames was impressive for Boishaai as he put in a workhorse performance. Divan Fuller (eighthman) also played well in the second-half. In the backs JC Mars (fullback) and Nel could also feel more than happy with their performances.
Glenwood’s fullback, Jaco Williams, is always dangerous with the ball in hand. Their outside centre, Johandre van Rooyen, also deserves a mention.
Boishaai will face Helpmekaar-kollege of Johannesburg on Monday, while Glenwood will play Welkom Gimnasium.
