Boishaai head for Bloem
This year the Mutual & Federal Premier Interschools match between Grey College and Paarl Boys’ High will be played in Bloemfontein as Boishaai moives its army up from the Cape on a great trek to Bloemfontein.
Last year Grey went south and were well beaten by Boishai, possibly even more comfortably than the 28-18 victory they enjoyed, at one stage leading 28-6.
They are traditionally poerful rugby schools in South Africa. At present Grey are ranked fourth on the FNB Top 20, Boishaii sixth. There is noting much betrween themBothg sides have lost to Outeniqua and both have beaten Oakdale. In addtion Boishai lost to Waterkloof and Glenwood while Grey lost at home to Affies in what was an excellent schools match, one of the best,
Of the teamns playing this Saturfday, Boishaai have only rapid Dante van der Merwe back from the team that won last year – a wing last year, a flyhalf this year. Grey have five bac=k from the side that lost last year – elegant fullback EW Vilojoen with the counterattacking flair, scrumhalf Heinrich Sander who is the vice-caoptain, lock Dylan Harlen and both props – Ruan Kramer and Andrew dui Plessis.
The signs are that it will be a close affair.
