All out action at the Hoërskool Pionier Sevens
The Hoërskool Pionier Sevens, proudly sponsored by Toyota, takes place over two days in Vryheid – on Friday, 16 August and Saturday, 17 August – bringing together 14 u17 teams and 12 u15 sides in the second round of the High School Sevens Series.

Last weekend, at the opening round in Durban, Westville Boys’ High won the u17 title at the Glenwood Sevens, while Northwood took the u15 honours.
The hosts, Pionier, will be among the favourites to take the u17 honours in Vryheid, but they’ll likely be challenged by Marais Viljoen, Sarel Cilliers, Ferrum and Hoërskool Vryheid.
A dark horse to keep an eye on is Vryheid Landbou. They were in action at the Glenwood Sevens last week and, after a tough start against DHS, gave some highly regarded teams a tough time. In the end, they lifted the Shield.
