BEN VAN DER MERWE

Two hat-tricks for Selborne College scored by Ben van der Merwe and Cade Kock secured an emphatic (9-2) win for the East London side against their arc rival, Queens College in the FNB Classic Clash encounter in East London on Saturday.

Selborne, who defeated their rivals 3-1 in the first leg earlier in the year, went into the game high in confidence after winning their first match from the mid-year break against Hudson Park (3-2).

The other two players that scored goals were Waeden Plaajies, and Thomas Caswell to wrap up a 9-2 in a dominant performance.

In other matches in the Province, Grey High School edged out Grey College (1-0) in Gqeberha, while Stirling held on for a nervy (1-0) win against Hudson Park.

St Andrews from Makhanda also won big during the weekend, defeating Dale College (6-2) in King Williams Town.
