31392 VS SCHOOL OF RUGBY HEADER v1

St Andrew’s College of Grahamstown and Outeniqua of George are the biggest climbers on School of Rugby‘s lastest School Rankings brought to you by Virseker. St Andrew’s is the giant slayers of 2017 as they’ve beaten Selborne College (26-5) just a week after the team from East London defeated the mighty Grey College of Bloemfontein. Last week they defeated Grey High School (41-36) in a thrilling encounter. They moved into our Top 20 taking up place nr. 19.

The Kwaggas from Outeniqua had some difficult games early in the season with a few of their stalwarts out with injuries. The team however recorded victories over HTS Drostdy and Oakdale Landbou the last couple of weeks which helped their place on School of Rugby’s Rankings. The Kwaggas also ran riot against Langenhoven Gimnasium in Oudtshoorn (81-20) on the weekend.

Oakdale Landbou made our top team, Paarl Boys’ High, sweat for a 36-31 victory in Riversdal on Saturday. This was Boishaai’s 49th successive victory in South Africa. They will be aiming for their half-century this weekend against Bishops.

Monument strengthened their second position by beating Glenwood comfortably by 30-19 in Durban. Monnas will be tested again this weekend against EG Jansen in Boksburg. The Jansies doesn’t rank that high, but is a much better team than their 24th position. They are definitely a Top 15 side, but a bad patch due to injuries earlier in the season influenced their ranking points.

Please note that we don’t take matches against international opposition into consideration in our rankings. These games will however still be recorded and shown in our results. This rankings is not an official ranking as there is no official ranking on schoolboy level and this is only to get the discussion on school rugby on South Africa flowing. We however take our responsibilty on reporting school rugby very seriously.
