School of Rugby Rankings – 4 May 2015
Our top ranked side from the start of the season, Paarl Boys’ High, secured their first victory over Grey College in Bloemfontein since the inception of their annual interschools way back in 1993. This also strengthened their place on top of our rankings.
Monument of Krugersdorp moves past Grey College to third spot after beating the team from Bloemfontein and also booking their place in the Tuks Series final against EG Jansen with a victory of 37-33 over Nelspruit. This was Nelspruit’s first defeat of the season.
We do believe that this year’s school rugby season is an interesting one where the top schools are so close together that anybody can beat each other on a specific day. This makes ranking teams even more difficult. No ranking system will ever be 100% correct and we only use this to get some discussion going.
Please note that we don’t take matches against international opposition into consideration in our rankings. These games will however still be recorded and shown in our results. If you want to see a team’s results thus far you just have to click on their name in the rankings.
- Oakdale Landbou’s victory over Windhoek Gimnasium (82-7) is therefore not counted towards our rankings. Rondebosch Boys’ High also toured Namibia and played three matches that will not reflect on their stats.
Paul Roos Gimnasium only played four games thus far against South African opposition. the most important victories coming against Monument (17-13) and Affies (29-12). The team is currently in Japan where it will play in the semi-final of the Sanix Youth International tournament later this week.
