Louw to anchor Under-21 scrum in Cape Town
Vodacom Blue Bulls Under-21 coach Nollis Marais included Wilco Louw at tighthead for his team’s crucial Absa Under-21 Provincial Championship match against DHL Western Province on Saturday.
Louw, who has played with great distinction during the Junior Springboks JWC campaign in New Zealand in June will have to provide stability in the scrum as the Blue Bulls try to topple the home side from the top of the A-Division log table.
Marais also rotated his halfback combination, with Joshua Stander and Carlo Engelbrecht starting in Cape Town after playing off the bench in last weekend’s unexpected defeat against the Golden Lions in Johannesburg.
The Blue Bulls Under-21 team to face WP is: Jacques Rossouw, Marquit September, Dan Kriel, Rohan Janse van Rensburg, Jade Stighling, Joshua Stander, Carlo Engelbrecht, Ruan Steenkamp (c), Jannes Kirsten, Roelof Smit, Marvin Orie, Irne Herbst, Wilco Louw, Jan Enslin, Justin Forwood. Replacements: Arno van Wyk, Neethling Fouche, Dennis Visser, Clyde Davids, JP Smith, Kobus Marais, Duncan Matthews.
