Garsies dominate round one of Pullen & Howell
The Garsfontein girls kicked off the new term on a high note this weekend at the Pullen and Howell tournament.
Kingsmead College hosted the first round and welcomed various teams around Johannesburg and Pretoria to their grounds.
The teams all had three games lined up each and the Garsfontein girls with their eager attacking side did not only win all three of their games, including a match against St Mary’s Waverly the girls’ defenses stood dead strong resulting in no goals scored against them.
Roedean High School also hot on their heels winning their matches against both Kingsmead College (2-0) and Helpmekaar College (1-0) making that a two out of three win, only falling short against Hoërskool Garsfontein.
Last years Pullen trophy winners St Mary’s Waverly had a slow start at this years tournament having lost their first game against Hoërskool Monument (0-1) and a draw against Affies (1-1) but still managing to come back and end their day with an impressive 7-1 win against E G Jansen Hoërskool.
